A Closer Look
The cooler uses a traditional design with the 92mm fan being mounted on top of the heatsink, this design is an unusual choice as the majority of coolers now have the fan mounted at the side of the cooler to blow the air away from the processor. The fan is surrounded by Aluminium fins on two sides and below.
The heatsink itself has cooper heat pipes which pass through the aluminium from the base of the cooler. This allows the heat to be removed from the processor and passed through to the aluminium heatsink.
The 92mm fan uses a standard 4pin power connection and is temperature controlled by the fans sensor from 1200rpm to 2500rpm. Although the fan appears to look transparent it has 2 orange LEDs which light up when running.
The base of the cooler is protected by a sticker which advises to remove before use. Once the sticker has been removed the copper base is exposed. You can also see four screws surrounding the base of the copper, these screws secure the copper to the aluminium fins above.
On the top of the copper base are aluminium fins which help carry the heat away from the base of the cooler.
