Installation
Before installing the heatsink into your case you first need to attach the mounting clips appropriate for the CPU socket your using. In our case we are using the AM2/AM3 mounting clips. First, the four screws on the bottom of the heatsink need to be loosened to free up the copper base from the aluminium fins. This then allows the metal clips to be inserted, the screws then need to be tightened up to secure the clip in place as you can see below.
The cooler has two clips which secure it to the motherboards retention bracket; one each side of the coolers clip. These hold the cooler in place and then are secured on by screws.
When installing the cooler in the Antec 1200 case we experienced an issue with the Corsair DHX memory which was currently installed in the motherboard, unfortunately the heatsinks on top of the memory were obstructing the cooler so the memory was changed for some regular Corsair memory for the testing process. The Antec 1200 case has a large amount of room and screwing the heatsink into the case was very easy however when mounting it into a more restrictive case such as the Antec 300, fastening the second screw could prove more difficult.
