After the success of the Nintendo NES and SNES Classic, it appears that the Japanese company is eyeing to revive its first handhold console next. Rumours are circulating in Japan that the next mini-version is the Gameboy Classic. Clues to its development surface when new trademark filings regarding the handheld console surfaced. It actually came directly from a Twitter Bot that informs the public of recent filings called Trademark Bot.
The trademark application was sent recently on September 15, 2017. It includes the use of graphics and likeness of the classic. It does not explicitly say that new hardware is coming. Also to prevent other similar products from coming out before it reaches the market. A similar filing also apparently for the Nintendo 64 surfaced in Europe last year according to US gamer.
