The Nintendo Switch is an unusual home console/tablet hybrid which could revolutionise the console gaming experience. Instead of having to use two devices, the Nintendo Switch can serve as two functions and offer excellent flexibility. Of course, the tablet form factor cannot contain the same graphical horsepower as a dedicated console box which raises questions about the product’s horsepower. The device’s success will greatly depend on the software library and price point. So far, there has been a lot of speculation regarding the Nintendo Switch’s price.
According to a new Canadian listing by the retailer Toys “R” Us, the product will cost $329.99. Once converted, this equates to 249 USD. Please note, the price could be a placeholder and doesn’t guarantee that this will be the RRP when units become available. Saying that, it’s interesting to see and the $249 price would make the console a really enticing proposition. It looks like this is just for the basic console and the extra traditional controller will increase the price by quite a bit.
Hopefully, the Nintendo Switch remains affordable and can quickly amass a large audience within the first 6 months.
