Nintendo is pushing out update 4.0.0 for their Switch handheld gaming console. This brings about several major much requested features including video capture and save game transfers.
The save data and user profile transfer now has the option under the system settings. Users can initiate transfer when the recipient is in range. However, there is still no cloud backup option available yet.
Video capture is also limited for now to four Nintendo games: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (version 1.3 or newer), Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (1.3 or newer), Splatoon 2 (1.2 or newer) and Arms (3.1 or newer).
According to NintendoLife, users can also now use wireless headphones despite Nintendo not including it on the changelog. USB audio is also now available in both docked and undocked modes. This includes native support for headsets such as the PlayStation Wireless. It works directly just by plugging and playing. A USB to USB-C adapter is still necessary for portable use however. Maybe that is why the company is not officially announcing the feature yet.
More Minor Nintendo Switch Changes
Aside from the big changes, the update also now allows for pre-purchase option for certain games on the eShop. This includes pre-loading of the game to the system for quicker play when the game is officially out. Upcoming games will support this feature indefinitely.
The newsfeed also gets a facelift and better layout, streamlining the content.
Twelve new Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild icons are also available.
