As I predicted, it only took twenty minutes to put this chair together, although I will add that this isn’t my first rodeo, and those building something like this for the first time could find it takes a bit longer. It may be quick to build, but it’s far from easy, and getting the backrest to line up its screw holes required much sweating and cursing, but a little persistence will get you there.
The backrest padding is super cosy to sit in, and while the backrest can’t be adjusted at all, it has a slight lean back to it that helps you sink into the seat nicely while gaming and the headrest works well for anyone under 6-foot, although beyond that and you’ll find the back of your head rests on the top of the backrest.
The arm rests have a huge amount of padding, more so than I’ve seen on any other gaming chair. This is great for digging in your elbows and kicking your feet up. If you like to slouch a bit and play with a controller while gaming, these are perfect for it.
We do love our metal wheels, but these plastics ones are pretty durable and since the chair is a little lighter than most in its class, it’s easy to glide along the floor in. As a bonus, if you have hard flooring, these wheels shouldn’t cause any scratches or damage.
There’s a slight dip in the back of the seat, allowing you to sink nicely into it, while still providing a good amount of support for your legs and a little lumbar support. There’s no add-on lumbar cushion, though, but with an affordable price, some concessions have to be made.
A lot of gaming chairs have a raised wing on the sides of the base cushion, limiting your movement room and making them uncomfortable for those with wide hips, or to put it politely, those with a little more meat on the bones. That’s not an issue here, there’s plenty of wiggle room and a nice bit of thicker and soft padding around the edges.
Overall, this is a very comfortable chair and it feels are cosy as it looks.
We popped it under the desk and the width was pretty standard, no issues there.
At max elevation, the armrest padding gets stuck under the desk, but lower the gas lift a little and that’s a problem that’s very easily solved.
