Many have long been under the impression that No Man’s Sky was a PlayStation 4 exclusive, which is understandable given that it’s been sitting along side many other upcoming PlayStation 4 titles in Sony marketing and at events for a few months now, but the developers want to make one thing clear, PC gamers are going to get in on the action too.
The game will launch first on the PlayStation, but only as a timed exclusive, with a PC release following some time afterwards.
No Man’s Sky is coming to PC, but will launch as a timed exclusive for PS4. So has that changed the game in any way? ”I actually got in a bit of trouble for saying that we wanted the game to deel really console-y” says Murray. ”We’ve always had PC in mind but in my head (console-y) means solid framerate and immediate controls” said Sean Murray, Director of No Man’s Sky while speaking with Edge Magazine. “I think a PC game can be ‘console-y’ and it’s intended as a compliment, but I get in trouble for saying it.” But While Hello always planned for it’s game to come out on consoles, knowing it’s lead platform has been useful. He added.
The game is already shaping up to be one of this years standout hits and while I am eager to play the console release, I may not just hold off for the PC edition, which we suspect will see release some time in 2015.
