Noblechair Java Edition Gaming Chair Review

In With the New

There are a bunch of premium features and minor improvements on the new model too, which just give it a much more high-end and premium feel. It is technically the same chair as the old one, but being a few years newer, it has had some manufacturing and design revisions that are all minor, but all add up nicely. Chrome effect dials are one of the most noticeable.

The backrest adjustment is chromed too, and it looks great.

The logo is still pressed into the headrest, and the noble badge is clipped on further down. It’s the same, but it’s easier to see on the Java rather than the Black.

The most striking thing to me, however, is just how good the new materials look. It’s still fake leather, but they call this one a next-gen hybrid material, as it uses new techniques and materials, resulting in a better and more durable finish that’s superior to any I’ve tested before.

The Java colour is a hell of a difference too, it really has a classy look to it that I think is lacking from most gaming chairs, which can often look gaudy at best.

Of course, you get all the same ergonomic benefits, with a reclining backrest that has adjustable lumbar support. Turning the dial on the backrest moves a bar in and out, and I fully accredit the bar to fixing my sciatica issues over the few years I’ve been using it (suffered for a decade before I had these chairs).

It’s a little thing, but I actually think the quality of the stitching is better on the new ones too. Furthermore, the more subtle contrast of the brown colours looks nicer too.

I’m just getting bored of the black leather and RGB that dominates most of the gaming setups these days.

The armrests are excellent, with a larger surface area, and actually, this is a component that has seen the most revisions over the years from noblechairs. It looks like hard plastic, but it’s actually a tough foam rubber so you can really dig in your elbows comfortably.

They’re 4D adjustable too, so you can bring them up/down, push them in/out, back/forward, and even rotate them in or out!

A lot of gaming chairs are shocking narrow and have high sides like real racing seats. Which is dumb, because I’m not taking turns at high speed and don’t need holding in place. For the most part, it just limits the chairs to skinny people. Noble does have large rear wings, but the angle is very forgiving here.

The base wings are very low and softly padded, so you can cross your legs very comfortably in this chair. Or fit your wider body, if that’s what you have, more comfortably too.

Overall, it’s the same chair I know and love, but just honed to perfection. A nice look, a nicer material feel and better build quality take it to the next level. There’s just one amusing issue…

This is where the optional headrest cushion can be fitted.

But uhh, it’s one size fits all and in this case, it doesn’t fit at all. It actually slides up and pops off after a few minutes.

Oh dear, what are they thinking? But the same for the lumbar cushion, the chair has built-in lumbar support. I think I’ll throw these in the cupboard as spares for our other noblechairs though (we have three), but these did make me chuckle, I suspect they’re included by mistake.
