A Closer Look

First up, we have the base unit, which is a five-point star made from cast aluminium. Super strong and durable and with a hard-wearing powder-coated finish.

To go with the base, you’ll find five nylon coated 60mm castor wheels. They’re very nice quality and should work great on multiple surfaces. They just plug into the base without the use of tools. You also get the usual class-4 gas lift, and a few covers and levers ready to attach to the seat. There’s also a small pack of the required screws to mount the chair components, and the tool to do so.

Ergonomics get a nice boost too, thanks to the inclusion of both a soft neck pillow and a memory foam lumbar support cushion. They’re both adjustable on the chair, and they’re optional, I often have mine off my gaming chair (especially in hot weather actually). The straps are optional for the lumbar cushion.

The mount/control unit is VERY heavy duty, and comes with a tension adjustment, locking rocker, and a paddle for the gas lift.

The base unit is pretty massive, but that’s to be expected, this is a bigger chair than most overall. It’s extra-wide, with lower and more padded wings too. It gives it more of an executive chair feel rather than the more traditional bucket racing seat style, which I find far too restrictive.

On the base, you can see the chair is deeply padded and sprung rather than the cheap “foam on a base” design. There are four large bolt holes to mount the base, and there are six bolts for the arms, allowing you to adjust their overall width.

The backrest is a high-back design, so even if you’re around 6ft tall, the top should be just a little above the top of your head while seated. There are two metallic finish cut-outs, allowing you to pass through the scraps to mount the support cushions.

There are some thick padded side wings too, matching those on the seat base. They look superb, but should also provide a comfortable shape to push your back into.

Around the back, there are no major branding marks, the only large logos are really on the removable cushions. The whole chair feels more professional and mature for it in my opinion.
