Building up the chair took about ten minutes, I can see it taking 30 for newcomers though. I’ve built a few of these over the years, you kinda get the hang of it. I would say, bigger and heavier it may be, and more premium, but it still goes together the same way as any other chair I’ve owned or reviewed.
Doesn’t it look fantastic though? The deeper and wider seat base is unrivalled to any gaming chair I’ve seen before. It’s less restrictive, better padded and supported, better stitched, and just downright more comfortable for me. It’s hard wearing, this much is true, but you’ll be thankful for that in the long term, as will your posture.
If the seat is a little deep or your uncomfortable, this lovely soft throw cushion can sit at the bottom of your back. I prefer to use the chair without while I’m working. Instead, I use the lumbar support on the chair. For slouchy feet up on the desk gaming, the cushion provides much-needed support.
This is optional too, but personally, I keep this one on all the time. It’s very soft and allows you to keep a good viewing position while leaning back. Without it, I find I’m looking slightly up when my head is back on the chair, rather than towards my monitor.
The level of adjustment is greatly improved on this model too. Not only does it go much lower than their older models (which were far too high at their lowest setting), it also goes high enough to take my feet off the floor by about 1-inch! The back can be laid almost completely flat, and still doesn’t feel like it’ll topple backwards.
The arms are very adjustable too. You can drop them right down, lift them up high, or anywhere in between. They can also be moved forwards and backwards, as well inward/outward. The only thing they don’t do is rotate.
All the controls are easily reached too, and the lumbar support control is easy to reach even with your right hand.
Here you can see my own noblechairs EPIC. I’ve had this for over two years now and not one stitch has failed, everything is still firm as it was when new, and it’s used extensively every day. However, I can feel the Hero is even better made, it just feels more “premium” right down to the little details.
As you can see, that seat cushion geometry is very different, and those big wings are gone. The backrest is significantly wider and the outer wings of it are much softer and more padded.
Despite being a bit bigger, the chair still fits under the same space as the EPIC did. The legs/wheels are about the same size, and since you can move the armrests in a little, it doesn’t snag on the desk. However, it is still a big chair, so be sure to measure twice before you order.
