Noctua’s CPU coolers are respected all across the entire market for their premium quality, performance and acoustics. Sadly, we don’t see Noctua release new CPU coolers very often because so much R&D is required for each new product. However, today is one of those rare days where Noctua have announce a new CPU cooler and we have not just one, but two.
The new products from Noctua are the NH-U12S and NH-U14S. These are based on the NH-U series of CPU coolers Noctua has released already, this series includes the NH-U12P, NH-U12DX and NH-U9B to name just a few. Both models feature high performance Noctua fans, six 6mm nickel plated heat pipes and a slim design for maximum RAM compatibility.
“The original NH-U12 and NH-U9 were the first Noctua products we brought to the market and the NH-U series has been a cornerstone of our success ever since”, explains Mag. Roland Mossig (Noctua CEO). “Representing the next generation of this venerable legacy, the new NH-U12S and NH-U14S are the result of almost 10 years of continuous development and optimisation. Both models mark a significant improvement in performance, convenience and compatibility.”
The NH-U12S comes equipped with Noctua’s infamous NF-F12 120mm fan, which we reviewed here, and has a 45mm fin depth meaning even with two fans installed there will still be 100% RAM compatibility on the LGA 1155 platform. Other Noctua standard treats, like a full tube of NT-H1, a 6 year warranty, a low noise adapter and a lavish mounting kit with accessory pack, are included.
The Noctua NH-U14S is equipped with Noctua’s excellent NF-A15 PWM fan, which we reviewed here, and this CPU cooler has a 52mm thick heatsink and 100% RAM compatible on the LGA 2011 platform. Again, a full tube of NT-H1, a 6 year warranty, a low noise adapter and a lavish mounting kit with accessory pack, are included.
The Noctua NH-U12S is available at €59.99/$65 and the NH-U14S is available at €69.90/$75. Keep your eyes peeled as hopefully we will be able to get at least one of these in for a review!
