The Noctua industrialPPC fan line is the ruggedized offering from the award-winning air cooling specialist. These special units are made of sturdier material and can operate in harsher environments than standard fans. Thus the ‘industrial’ name. While Noctua has expanded that line with 24V models last year, they are now expanding that product line to deliver automotive-compliance. These fans are identical to existing NF-F12 and NF-A14 iPPC models, having a black color unlike the regular Noctua brown.
The new Q100 series industrialPPC have passed the highly rigorous Automotive Electronics Council’s AEC-Q100 failure mechanism stress test, making them truly applicable even in sensitive electronic environments. The Q100 industrialPPC series includes 120mm NF-F12 and 140mm NF-A14 models that are IP67 certified. This means it has total protection against dust and it is has protection against the effect of water immersion between 15cm and 1m. Users can choose between 2000 RPM and 3000 RPM models for both 120 and 140mm sizes as well. Each fan uses the novel NE-FD4 motor driver IC, SSO2 bearings and 150,000 hours MTTF covered with a 6-year warranty.
Noctua’s Q100 industrialPPC fans will be available shortly in retail stores. In fact, it is already shipping out at the time of writing this article. All four models carries an MSRP of EUR 29.90 or USD 34.90.
