Well, Noctua fans have always been a little on the expensive side. They manufacture with much stricter tolerances, with more high-end materials and technologies than many of their rivals. The end result is that Noctua are still regarded as the best fans out there. I’m beating around the bush here, they were expensive to begin with and adding all the Chromax didn’t make them cheaper. Of course, you get what you pay for.
Without a doubt, the new Chromax fans look fantastic. I won’t lie though, they look pretty much like the last set of Chromax fans and accessories they released. We actually looked at the CPU cooler covers, Chromax cables and some fans two years ago which you can read here. What’s new is that there have been some improvements. There are a lot more products in the range now, that’s for sure. I think they’ve made some minor adjustments to the design of the inserts too, improving the overall aesthetics. I’ve noticed the box design is more in line with their other products too. Little changes, but they all add up.
Obviously, it seems Noctua wanted to ensure every system and application could use their new Chromax fans. From 80mm to 200mm, they seem very well covered now. However, what if you have their industrial, black, redux, or even their brown fans already and you still want the coloured inserts, or you simply need more of them? Well, they’ve got you covered there too.
Noctua sent me six boxes of NA-SAVP1, six boxed of SAVP3 and six boxed os SAVP5. Each box containing 16 corner anti-vibration mounts and one box for every colour and size. That’s a whopping 288 pads and amusingly, I don’t need them, ha! I will no doubt sneak these into future reviews that use Noctua products. If you need more, they’re just £5.95 a pack here.
