Noctua Chromax Review – It’s Time to Get Colourful!

A Closer Look – Chromax Cables
Firs tup, we’ve got the new Chromax cables, and first impressions are very good. The colours are incredibly vibrant and a little glossy. This isn’t a fabric braid like you often see, it has a more rubbery quality, while still looking like a woven material. The end result of this is that it cant fray like most, so it’s stronger, longer laster, and will hold its colour far longer.
Both edges are fitted with all black connectors and some of the tightest and cleanest looking heat shrink wrap I’ve ever seen. Typical Noctua (in a good way) is that even when they make more “fun” products, they still over-engineer them.
The extension cables are great, and it’s obvious how they can add to your build. Below we have their Y-split cables and these are perfect for those running two fans for say, a CPU cooler, but only want to use one motherboard header. Of course, they come in the same range of colours as the extensions.
The quality is simply fantastic. However, I think there’s just a little too much of the black wrap on them, as they’re only about 50% coloured material at this point. Still, I can’t fault the build quality one bit.
