A Closer Look – Chromax Heatsink Covers
Noctua coolers look great, or at least I think they do. Of course, if you want to tidy up the design of the shiny silver heatsink you can now use Chromax covers. You simply slide this over the top of the cooling tower, and you’re good to go. It really is that simple.
They come in both black and white finishes. Both are really nicely finished, they’re not quite full matte and they’re not fully glossy, and they’re sure to look fantastic on any Noctua cooler.
On the interior, there’s a removable magnetic support and a plethora of thick anti-vibration rubber mounts.
This will help keep the cooler cover secure, and even features cutouts to allow the heat pipes to poke through, giving it a flusher finish once mounted.
If you want more colour, the insert model is pretty much the same, but with a cutout design on the front.
Simply pop out the internal magnetic mount.
Pick one of the six colour inserts, and remove its plastic protective film.
Then simply clip it in between the two parts. You could easily make your own insert too, it’s just a bit of cardboard.
