Austrian cooling experts Noctua is releasing a massive update to their Chromax line featuring products showcased at Computex 2017. This includes new fans, heatsink covers, and cables. The initial Chromax line release introduced color options for the corner inserts and anti-vibration mounting. The latest update provides the most requested feature from Noctua and opens users up to customization and modding.
The new Noctua Chromax.Black.Swap fans are all-black versions of their current fan line. No longer do fans need to buy the high-RPM Industrial PPC series just to get a color-neutral fan. It is available in 120mm and 140mm sizes as well with five color corner insort options. This series includes:
Each come with six color 4x anti-vibration pads: black, white, yellow, green, red and blue. The scope of delivery also includes 4x fan screws and extension cable.
Available in black or white, new heatsink metal covers are available for some of their most popular tower cooler series. For now this includes the NH-U12S and NH-D15S. There are five variants initially available:
This inserts increase the height of the heatsink by 6mm for the NH-U12S and 5mm for the NH-D15(S). It attaches easily via clips at the top until the magnets on the side are in place. Each are powder-coated so the quality of the paint is better and is more resistant. Moreover, some variants allow for color customization through color inserts in the middle. This lets users match the same corner count color as the fans. For those who prefer a more muted look, a plain white or plain is also available.
Aside from fans, corner inserts and heatsink covers, Noctua also adds color-extension cables. This lets users fully color-coordinate their build and is available in the same color options as the rest of the Chromax line. There are two main types available: extension cables (NA-SEC1) or Y-cables (NA-SYC1). There are 4x 30cm extension cables on each extension cable pack, while there are three 11.5cm Y-cables on each Y-cable pack.
