Noctua NF-F12 PWM 120mm Fan Review

Included with the Noctua NF-F12 bundle is a set of four rubber fan mounts, a female 4 pin to male 4 pin black braided extension cable (not in the picture because I forgot it!), Noctua documentation, four silver fan mounting screws, a dual 4 pin female to single 4 pin male y-splitter fan cable, a low noise adaptor (this limits the fan to 1200RPM instead of 1500RPM) and the fan itself.
A very high quality and extensive bundle from Noctua, the best one I’ve ever seen with a fan which you would hope for since you’re paying the premium for it.
Once you’ve observed the obvious things, like the colour scheme and seven blade impeller, you start to notice the finer details in these Noctua NF-F12 fans. For instance you can see the integrated anti-vibration pads on each corner as well as the focus flow frame with notches, visible at the back of the fan.
The Noctua NF-F12s are standard 120mm form factor fans at 25mm thick.
From the back you can get a closer look at the grooves on the fan’s frame as well as the stepped-inlet design on the fan impeller. You can also see the fan draws just 0.6W which is much lower than anything we’ve ever seen before. Unfortunately we can’t show you the SS02 bearing and metal shell without dismantling and damaging the fan – but I think we can trust Noctua in saying that’s what is hidden beneath the centre of the fan.
