Noctua NF-P14 FLX Fan

Now, taking a look at the fan itself at first glances it looks huge, but because it has no outer casing as such it is not much bigger than a 120mm fan which is the clever part behind this fan. The fan is of course circular and the screw mountings are placed in a square quite close to the centre so it can be fitted into a 120mm fan space. The fan consists of 9 blades with what Noctua call Vortex-Control-Notches’ which simply put tries to reduce the turbulence and noise output of the fan. The notches are staggered over the blades so that if any noise is produced it is produced at different frequencies so there isn’t a distinctive hum’ to the fan.
It must also be noted that as the positioning of the mounting holes are not on the far corners of the fan (as its circular) the fan is wider than the 120mm fan spacing, unfortunately this does mean that if your case has a ridge designed to fit a 120mm fan you will not be able to fit this fan in that space however, if you have an extra half an inch either side of the spacing you will be fine, which is most cases.
In general this fan feels very well built and pretty sturdy. Even the cable is braided making it feel more durable and is of a sensible length.
