Performance
Temperatures – Single CPU
Noctua’s NH-D9 can’t quite keep up with the larger coolers, at least not on the default fan profile. But that’s also a given, it’s about a third smaller. That said, the NH-D9 DX-3647 4U holds up well against the competition. The idle temps are also worth highlighting.
Temperatures – Dual CPU
Moving up to the dual-socket setup and we only got one comparison product, the NH-U12S. Despite the size difference, the NH-D9 holds up very well and delivers a solid performance.
Acoustics – Single CPU
A good cooling doesn’t mean that it has to get loud, not even for a server. Sure, it gets a little louder than it does with larger fans, but not a lot. Everything is still well within the ‘nice’ levels.
Acoustics – Dual CPU
There isn’t a whole lot of change with the acoustics when we move up to the dual-socket setup again. A great result.
