Noctua Reveal Affordable NH-L9i Cooler

Noctua, Kings of the air cooler, have released a slimline cooler – the Noctua NH-L9i. Whilst this may not necessarily be a new product, the price of it has dropped quite significantly which will make it be attractive. The cooler offers performance with a slimline design which will be attractive for many of those who strongly endorse the Noctua brand, but perhaps not the size of their larger heavy-duty coolers.

What are the specifications of the Noctua NH-L9i?

While targeting the micro build with its size and design, the specifications for the Noctua NH-L9i remain very impressive.

While the Noctua NH-L9i is clearly not designed for heavy-duty usages, such as overclocking, this will be an excellent option for those looking for options in their micro-build.

We at eTeknix must confess to a lot of love for Noctua. Several members of our staff own DH-15’s (the big boy double coolers) and find that in general, it is a brand that might carry a cost, but always provides performance.

The slimline design removes any ram compatibility issues. A problem that the larger Noctua’s do suffer from. Although with the size at a teeny tiny 37mm, that wasn’t likely to be a problem here. Just consider that some years ago we reported on Noctua’s ‘slimline’ entry at the time which was over 60mm. It shows just how far they have come.

How much is it?

Further details on the card are available on Noctua’s website although, for those considering a mini-ITX build, this is an option which will guarantee the right size but also the performance associated with the Noctua brand.

Starting at a low £35.00, this should be very tempting. Even for those who do not necessarily subscribe to the micro-builds, this is a price more associated with Coolermaster rather than Noctua. Yes, Coolermaster does have some excellent fans (the Evo 212 has been and is still one of the best budget fans around), but as far as we’re concerned Noctua are the kings of the air fan.
