Acoustic performance is where the NoFan CR-95C shines brightly. We had to adapt the way we displayed our results and use delta noise levels (product noise output minus ambient room noise level). As you can see at stock clocks it is 3 to 7 dBA quieter than the competition. Impressive numbers considering all the CPU coolers we have tested so far, are very quiet anyway.

Even though the CR-95C failed the overclocked Prime95 testing 7 minutes in to the 10 minute test, it still handled the overclock well in non-Prime95 scenarios such as gaming. Consequently, we felt it is still fair to compare it to competing solutions in terms of overclocked acoustics. Compared to competing coolers, the NoFan CR-95C was up to 10 delta dBA quieter – and that does make a noticeable difference.
