Nokia To Launch 5.5 or 6 Inch PureView Smartphone This Year

Nokia’s current PureView 808 Smartphone

According to rumours emerging from NokiaPowerUser Nokia are working on an impressive new addition to their PureView line up in the form a 5.5 or 6 inch display variant. We haven’t really seen a large display phone from Nokia as they have tended to stick to sub 4 inch display smartphones. However, if rumours are to be believed then their latest PureView will boast a huge 5.5 or 6 inch display. Clearly Nokia wants a piece of this premium smartphone market segment as this is where the big money is at.

There are unfortunately no specifications other than that it will feature a 5.5 or 6 inch screen. Unlike the PureView 808 which was running Nokia’s proprietary Symbian OS the new PureView 5.5/6 inch smartphone is expected to run Windows Phone 8 like Nokia’s Lumia range of phones. It is also expected that Nokia will release a larger version of their Lumia series of phones following the release of this large PureView phone. Nokia haven’t made any official confirmations but look for some details to arrive in the near future.
