When I say “we have a USB car charger” I would expect most people in the office to fall asleep bored. However, this is so much more than it seems, and may be the coolest car charger… ever! It may be a compact device, but the sheer number of features, at least for a car charger, is simply amazing.
At its very core, the Zus is a charger. You plug it into the cigarette lighter port on your car, and it offers up two standard USB ports on the side, ready to hook up your USB devices. Obviously, that includes things like a SatNav, mobile, tablet, Dashcam, etc. If it takes USB power, it’ll work with Zus.
Things get less boring when you look at the power stats. It’ll deliver a staggering 4.8A total, 2.4A per each USB port. That’s much more power than virtually any other charger on the market, and that means twice the charging speed performance. If you’ve had a cheap charger that barely keeps your phone alive while using SatNav, you’ll know the Zus has something special.
The build quality of this surprisingly humble device is quite impressive. It’ll happily operate up to 100c, so it’ll keep working long after you’ve died from the heat. The outer casing is German Bayer Material, and the head has a titanium coating. Of course, it all comes with nonda’s lifetime guarantee, so while it’s unlikely to break, it’s covered if it ever does.
Can’t find the ports in the darkness of your car? The USB ports have a small LED lighting built-in, making them easier to find. Tired of flipping over the USB header to find the way it installs? That problem is gone, as these ports will take a USB cable either way around.
Via the all-in-one mobile app on iOS or Android, you can track a whole host of things with the Zus. One that appeals to me is that it’s able to log your mileage. Just tap start and stop and you can keep track, which is really handy for those who need to monitor their work usage of a personal car. Forgot where you parked? Get a visual aid on your phone display telling you how far and which direction your car is. If you’re in an unfamiliar city, this can be a real problem solver. It’ll also give you a 10-minute reminder before you parking tickets run out, saving you a nasty fine or worse. Picking up friends? You can use the app to share your parking location with them so you can easily find each other.
Worried about the state of your car battery? Amazingly, this little device will also monitor the car battery performance over time. If anything is wrong, it will send you an alert. While this seems like you won’t need it, imagine having a warning of a faulty or low battery before you have to ask someone for a jump-start? Not so silly now!
