Being a bit of a HTPC fan and the various combinations you can install to get the configuration you want, I feel that I can appreciate the aesthetics quite well and the Noontec A9 really appeals to me. It has a simple, yet stylish design incompassed into a glossy black box. The only branding is the Noontec logo on the top with a removable red sticker that informs you of the various features of the unit.
To the bottom right is a power button which glows when in operation.
On the rear we find a variety of connections for a multitude of connectivity options. From left to right is the power connector, Composite AV connectors (red/white/yellow), optical SPDIF for digital output to audio devices, HDMI, 10/100 LAN, USB type A connector, and USB type B connector.
The front of the A9 has some simple branding to inform you of the name (Smart TV Box) and an IR receiver From this angle, we can see exactly how slim the unit is which allows for it to be positioned in many locations around your television unit.
On the right side of the A9 we find a few ventilation holes to allow any heat generated by the unit to be exhausted though due to the technology inside, we can’t see the temperatures getting to any levels that may need cause for concern.
On the left side of the A9 is another USB type A port and a 2 in 1 card reader supporting SD, SDHC and MMC based memory cards so that your different media can be accessed with ease.
