Noontec A9 Smart TV Box Review

The styling is something that has really appealed to me, as it offers up a sleek, glossy black unit that packs a serious punch in terms of processing power, memory and GPU capabilities. With all this in mind, Noontec have still managed to fit it all into a slim black box that is stylish and will end up complimenting any home theatre setup.

Functionality wise, we see Android 2.3 being at the heart of it, and this opens up a lot of doorways to extra features through use of the Android Market. Pre-installed are the usual Youtube applications and other popular software, but more is waiting from the simple logging in of your Google account and did we mention that this unit also supports Flash 10.3 as well? Because it does, and that is a real godsend for consumers wishing to web surf on this device. To make all of this even easier, the A9 is WiFi ready, straight out the box, with no need for any wireless dongles or receivers, just a quick configuration is needed from the Android settings page, which takes less than 30 seconds from start to finish.

Making things even easier, the included QWERTY keyboard makes the simplest of tasks even easier and allows use of the trackpad for accurate movement while the keys are precise and lots double up through use of the FN function that we see widely used on notebooks and similar devices.

Performance is something that we mentioned is key at the start of this article, with so many manufacturers believing that they can get away with selling similar media based products with only ample processing power that can barely handle standard definition, without even delving into HD 1080p or even 720p for that matter. The Noontec A9 however simply allows perfect fluid playback of the very highest quality movies and other video footage due to the larger capacity memory and faster CPU processor.

A lot of thought has gone into the Noontec A9 Smart TV Box and it shows, from the styling, to the features, right down to the performance and with a very modest price tag of £107.96 I can’t seem to find any fault apart from the fact that no HDMI cable is included within the bundle, but your local supermarket will surely do you a deal at less than a fiver so you can’t grumble to much at that.

With that in mind, we can honestly see the Noontec A9 becoming a big hit in the HTPC based sector and we wish Noontec ever success with this product and eagerly await to see what else they have up their sleeves for the future as we’re kind to see how they can better the A9, because simply put, how can you better perfection? That’s what we want to find out!
