Noontec TerraMaster F2-220 2-Bay SMB Cloud Storage NAS Review
File Copy From NAS
File copy from the NAS works in exactly the same way as the copy test, but it works in the opposite direction. The single 1.4 GB file is read off the NAS in 64 kB blocks.
OK. I bought this. And reading your review has been painful.
I had multiple issues and think that your review is biased if not complacent.
The NAS is not market ready with extremely buggy software and multiple issues
that you failed to check or even bothered to investigate. First and foremost,
the installation is NOT a breeze. I had two crashes and it fails without any
indication. Like it will just hang on formatting and nothing will happen or it
will start downloading TOR software and just hang. After the painful
installation I would have been OK with it had it worked consistently. I had ONE
drive in at (8TB) and it would not have a sustained speed. It fluctuates
between 0 and 75. I changed to wired and it was 0 to 100 (meaning at times it
will just stall). It’s been two days copying 3.5TB data. No luck. It times out.
When trying to copy 3.5TB as one copies it refuses and gives error that there
is not enough space.
Adding to this copying disaster is the hardware setting. Do
you know if you set the fan to high it slows down still to 10rps? Try it before
posting that it has a great setting for speed. One of my NAS drive died due to
copying in a case with no air flow (the fan never sped up when drives heat. I am
on my next drive (different company and also 8TB). Same fluctuations.
I am using 3.0.26 TOS. The tech team refuses to give me the old software (by the way try downloading the TOS software from thir website. A lightning speed of 150Kb/sec. Takes 9 hrs to download the TOS software)
Its VERY easy to copy hardware (or the logo from Cooler Master), but a device finnesse is shown by its software and ease of use. This things fails miserably and for eTeknix to give it a thumbs up is very odd. I guess I wont be reading your reviews any time soon.
