Price
The Noontec ZORO II Wireless Special Edition (Volcanic Rock) is available for £149.99, which isn’t cheap, but for a premium set of wireless, high-quality headphones, which also come with a cool carbon fibre carry case, it’s about what you would expect to pay. You can pick up the slightly more affordable red version, which doesn’t come with the case, for £109.99, or the older model which have been out for a few years now for just £89.99, but don’t offer the same battery performance of Apt-X support.
Overview
Noontec has been growing in popularity over the years, and it’s easy to see why they’re one of the biggest brands when it comes to delivering stylish headsets that are not only a bit of a fashion statement but also delivering performance that’s sure to keep the audiophile market happy. Just because you want to look cool, doesn’t mean you’re going to want sub-par headsets at jacked up prices; we’re pointing that finger right at Dre Beats, and you all know it.
Format support on this headset is impressive, and while Bluetooth headsets are nothing new, added features such as the Apt-X support, NFC, and the inclusion of a very nice quality detachable 3.5mm cable all add up. The wireless tech used means that with modern mobile devices, or anything else with Apt-X and BT4.0 will deliver audio performance in wireless mode that is literally as good as wired modes, and that’s nothing to be sniffed at.
The quoted battery life of 35-hours is a little ambitious, and I’m sure you could if you kept the volume around 50% for all that time, but expect it to last a bit over 20 if you’re pushing the volume up higher more often, and it’s likely that most people will. That’s not bad though, and with a 16-hour flight ahead of me next month, it’s more than enough to keep me going till I get off the flight.
Build quality is perfect, literally perfect. The blend of premium materials that are meticulously finished give the headset great aesthetics, but it feels well-balanced and durable in your hand. Of course, if you’re worried about damaging it between uses, that carbon fibre storage case will certainly come in handy too!
