With the Nvidia 20XX range of graphics cards having been released for a little while now, you may have noted that to date there has not been a mobile version. For those unfamiliar with the term, these are specifically graphics cards that are designed to operate and work primarily on laptops. What? You didn’t think a laptop contained a full-size desktop GPU, did you?
Well, the good news is that if you have been holding off your next laptop purchase for Nvidia’s latest graphics card line, then the wait may soon be over. In a report via Techpowerup, Nvidia is expected to release a mobile 2070 and 2080 at the upcoming CES 2019 show.
Well, it’s hard to say until they actually arrive. Traditionally M versions of graphics cards have always been quite notable weaker than the desktop equivalent, but obviously, the 20XX range has already revealed more than a few interesting tricks. The timing seems about right so we see no reason why not. We will, of course, be attending the event. So if these are revealed you’ll be the first to hear about it! If you have been holding out for a new laptop though, it might be worth just waiting a little bit longer. There could be some big things on the horizon!
