Earlier this month, as part of their desktop 4070 Ti launch event, Nvidia also confirmed the upcoming release of their new 40XX-based laptops. – Of these, it was confirmed that, against a lot of expectations, Nvidia would indeed be bringing a 4090 mobile GPU to the market! Yep, they’d somehow managed to figure out a way to fit its colossally huge desktop form into a laptop design.
So, exciting stuff for sure, but in terms of prices, Nvidia was being notably vague on the subject. – Following a report via Videocardz, however, we might have our answer and if circa €3,600 minimum for a 4090 laptop sounds a bit steep, well, you might want to stop reading at this point!
According to leaked pricing information from XMG, they have confirmed that over the base price of a 4060 laptop, consumers can likely expect 4090 models to cost circa €1,687 more. Same specs, just a significantly more potent GPU.
So, given that Nvidia has already confirmed that the 40XX mobile series models should be starting at €1,999, it only takes a very basic level of arithmetic to see that, at least in theory, a 4090 laptop, even a relatively basic one (which we doubt they’ll be many) will be circa €3,600 at its most rock bottom entry-level price point!
So, yeah, if you were liking the idea of getting a new cutting-edge 4090 laptop, just bear in mind that €4,000 might not give you much spare change. If any at all! – Then again, this is Nvidia. Did we really expect anything different?…
