With NVIDIA not producing a Founders Edition model for the soon-releasing RTX 4060 Ti 16GB variant, the task of selling and promoting this card has fallen almost entirely upon AIB partners who aren’t very keen.
The general consensus for the unreleased RTX 4060 Ti 16GB variant is effectively “dead on arrival” with board partners already uninterested in the card leading us to expect fewer models to be released on the rumoured July 18th release date. With this though also comes the news that we may also be seeing fewer reviews of these cards as well based upon some information that HardwareUnboxed has shared. The 16GB variant of this card will not feature an official review program from NVIDIA alongside the lack of an FE card, but every board partner that HardwareUnboxed has approached had no intention of sending a review sample of the card. Even more worrying is that the board partners supposedly don’t even know when their models will be available with just 7 days left until the expected July 18th release date.
All of this news simply presents to me as neither NVIDIA nor AIB partners have any confidence in this new graphics card which I can’t say is unexpected. This 4060 Ti 16GB at $499 is very unlikely to be worth that price tag as an extra 8GB of VRAM isn’t going to bring in $100 worth of performance over the 8GB 4060 Ti especially since gamers already consider the 4060 Ti to be overpriced. Additionally that also likely gives us a reason as to why we aren’t seeing review samples as you can probably just copy-paste the performance graphs of the 8GB variant.
