NVIDIA’s upcoming RTX 4060 Ti variant with 16GB of VRAM is supposedly not catching the interest of NVIDIA’s board partners reflecting the opinions of most consumers as well.
RTX 4060 Ti 16GB Not Interesting
It’s no secret that the current consensus surrounding NVIDIA’s latest cards feature the keywords of “overpriced”, “poor” or “waste of sand” and the upcoming RTX 4060 Ti with 16GB of VRAM is no exception to that with its $499 price tag. As it turns out some AIB partners may be sharing similar doubts about this card as shared by Andreas Schilling of hardwareluxx.de (via VideoCardz) who reached out to some AIB partners to discuss this new model. Andreas states that “very few are interested in promoting the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB” and their reasoning is mostly down to the price. Schilling also mentions how the card was very clearly designed to quiet the 8GB critics however the pricing for this card is just not attractive in the slightest. It’s also worth noting that NVIDIA won’t be releasing an FE variant of the card meaning it’s success relies entirely on board partners who aren’t even interested.
4060 Ti 18th July
Current information for the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB is pointing towards an 18th July release date so we don’t have long to see if 16GB of VRAM with a 128-bit bus warrants an additional $100. For gamers, I really don’t think it does, creatives however may see some value with the higher VRAM against more expensive workstation alternatives.
