Nvidia Confirms Full GeForce RTX 3060 Specs

Earlier this week, Nvidia officially confirmed that their upcoming GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card would be “released” on February 25th. In something more than a little baffling, however, while a date was announced, Nvidia didn’t update the product’s website to confirm any of its upcoming ‘base’ specifications.

Well, it took a couple of days, but with the website now having been revised, we finally know its full specs and, potentially, what kind of performance we can expect from the 3060!

Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060

Firstly, in terms of outright comparisons with other graphics cards, Nvidia is still resisting the temptation to (yet) discuss any gaming benchmarks with just the 3060 Ti still noted within the website’s charts. In terms of what we can expect, however, with the full specifications now confirmed below, we do get a pretty firm idea that, overall, the 3060 shouldn’t be too far off the pace of its Ti counterpart.

SPECIFICATIONS

  • CUDA Cores – 3,584
  • Base Clock – 1.32GHz
  • Boost Clock – 1.78
  • Memory – 12GB @ 192-bit bandwidth

What Do We Think?

This is, of course, a very curious situation as while the 3060 and 3060 Ti have very different specifications where, in some instances, the lower-tier GPU actually would appear to have some advantages. Particularly in regards to the higher boost clock speed and the fact that it has 4GB more of VRAM. Yes, the 3060 Ti certainly looks to have the potent specs where it really matters. Still, under certain circumstances, it is entirely possible that the 3060 could outperform its supposedly ‘better’ counterpart (such as during gaming at higher resolutions).

With the media review embargo set to lift within the next 10 days, however, rest assured that we’ll be ready to bring you all of the latest synthetic and gaming benchmark results as soon as we have them!
