Nvidia shocked the world with the launch of the Titan-Z, not only because it’s freaking powerful, but also because it costs a wallet busting $2,999, making it the most expensive consumer graphics card around. It’s is no secret that Nvidia sell these cards with a significant margin, but now it looks like Nvidia are happy to take a cut from their profits and drop the cards price by 37%.
Now for the bad news, this discount is front the OEM price, which means they’ll be able to stock a card for around $1830 and it is down to the OEM partner to pass the savings onto the end user, but it remains to be seen if this will actually happen.
Right now the card is still $3k, but that HAS to start dropping at some point and this is the first step towards that happening.
