Gaming Performance

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Shut the front door, 90 FPS from this plucky little card. We’re not mucking about either, as we use High settings in all our games, and this is a very visually demanding game. However, it’s keeping pace with a GTX 1080 here, and that’s just stunning. Even at 1440P, it scored 60 FPS, that golden number, putting it on par with the GTX 1070. It ran out of steam at 4K though, hitting just 33 FPS, but that’s still the same as the GTX 1070 also.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Again, we see very strong performance at 1080p, scoring an impressive 81.5 FPS. Of course, that puts it on par with the GTX 1070 and just behind the 1070 Ti. We scored an equally impressive 53.9 FPS at 1440p, which could easily be turned to 60 FPS or above with some minor tweaks. As you could expect, the frame rate was cut in half at 4K, hitting just 27.7 FPS; about the same as the GTX 1070.

Ghost Recon: Wildlands

Another solid result here once again, trading blows with the 1070 and 1070 Ti as we would expect. It also scored over 60 FPS at 1440p with 66.48 FPS overall, and 36.24 at 4K. Once again, competitive with the same cards.

Middle Earth: Shadow of War

The very demanding Shadow of War didn’t slow it down one bit either. Hitting 78 FPS at 1080p and 54 FPS at 1440p, it’s very much playable at both resolutions. Furthermore, 32 FPS at 4K, leaving it once again rubbing shoulders with the GTX 1070 and GTX 1070 Ti.

Battlefield V Now Playable for Origin Premier Subscribers

Battlefield V

While testing Battlefield V, we saw a very impressive 85 FPS at 1080p. Again, a reminder that we run at High settings, so that’s nothing to complain about. Even at 1440p, we scored an impressive 62 FPS, which is obviously great. Finally, just 30 FPS at 4K, which is playable for single player, but not ideal for online. But hey, that’s impressive for such a tiny card in such a demanding game!

Metro Exodus

We’re in the process of retesting this game on a larger scale. However, we wanted to present our current 1660 Ti results as is, for better or worse, against the old Metro figures. So many updates for this game, so little time!
