Power Consumption, Temperatures & Acoustics

Power Consumption

Amazingly, the card only pulled 201.4 watts at the wall. That’s less than the old 1060 Ti, while still giving performance higher than a GTX 1070.

Temperatures

Despite only having a single 92mm fan, the card runs pretty ydarn cool. It was happyy to sit at just 68c under full load and idled nicely too. There’s no zero RPM fan mode here though.

Acoustics

Even at full pelt, the fan was pretty modest, clocking out at just 41.1 dBA, up from the 38.1 dBa idle. Overall, it’s quiet thanks to the single fan design.

Overclocking

Now, this was pretty shocking, to say the least. We were able to push that core clock extremely high. Nvidia said we’d make 2GHz, and we did, and beyond. The boost hit 2070 MHz. That’s a big leap from the 1500 MHz stock. Furthermore, the memory increased by 400 MHz to 1900 MHz! Overall, that gave us around 10-11% performance improvements which is shockingly good.
