The GTX 7xx range is almost upon us and Nvidia can’t hold onto all their information forever! Now we can confirm that not only are the cards almost upon us, but that we now know exactly what specifications they’re packing.

Based around the GK110 hardware, the GTX 780 is set to features a whopping 2304 CUDA cores and a 900MHz Boost Clock that should see it churn out some impressive benchmarks upon release.

The GK110 is based around the 28nm process, but that doesn’t mean much in terms of power saving when the card pulls 250W TDP via set of 6+8pin PCI-Express power cables, all this power will be used to drive the 863MHz base clock, with GPU Boost 2.0 taking that up to a nice round 900Mhz. 3GB of GDDR5 memory will add some extra performance punch and is clocked at 6000MHz with a 384-bit memory interface.

Much like the GTX 770 the GTX 780 is set to use the GTX Titan cooler and it’s likely we’ll be seeing a lot more of that cooler design on future Nvidia cards given that it packs the capabilities of cooling incredibly powerful graphics cards but also keeping noise to a surprising low level of around 45-45 dBA, much less than the GTX 680 stock cooler.

If these specs are to be taking into consideration then this card could be around 25-50% more powerful than the HD 7970 GHz Edition meaning the GPU war between Nvidia and AMD is far from over.

The GTX 780 is set to launch on the 23rd of this month, but you best start saving as you might have guess it’s not going to be cheap with the GTX 770 expected to be around £400 we could be looking at £500+ for the GTX 780.
