Oooh this is exciting, according the VideoCardz.com the GeForce GTX 880 will be available in retailers late next month, an exact date is to be confirmed relatively soon I’d imagine. The interesting this about the 880 is it’s price, it’s rumored to be launching at a lower price that the 780 and 780ti but offer increased performance over the older models, not by a great deal, 10% perhaps, but with more performance and a lower price I can see why it’s being talked about so much.
We should expect NVIDIA to offer up 4GB and 8GB GDDR5 versions, both on a 256-bit bus and with prices rumored to be between $400 and $500. This will not only put some fresh new cards on the market but this will also make the prices for the 780 and 780ti drop to be able to compete with the latest card.
Having owned a GTX 580 and 2 680s in my history of PCs I have a good feeling about this next card, NVIDIA never ceases to impress me with performance and cooling from their cards and I hope this next lineup of cards will bring just as impressive results. We’ll just have to wait and see what the benchmark results bring!
