*Breathes heavily*.
Composing myself, I can continue writing this – in a world where 4GB of VRAM on our GPUs is about the norm now, with NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX Titan shipping with 6GB of RAM and a slew of AMD Radeon R9 290Xs now shipping with 8GB of RAM, NVIDIA is teasing the world with the possibilities of its forthcoming GeForce GTX Titan II.
According to the latest rumours, the GM200-powered GPU will ship with 12GB of GDDR5 VRAM – yes, 12GB. The Titan II will be made on the 28nm process, the same technology used to build the GTX 980 and GTX 970 cards, but we should see a massive 3072 CUDA cores, which is over 1000 more CUDA cores than the GTX 980. A 384-bit memory bus will be used on the 12GB of RAM.
Core clock speeds should be at 1100 MHz, while 1390 MHz Boost clocks will be applied, with the RAM at 6000 MHz. We should hear more about this card at GTC 2015 in March, so keep your cool until then, ok?
