NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Series TDPs Leaked

NVIDIA’s upcoming GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs, codenamed “Blackwell,” have had their power configurations leaked. This information was revealed by Seasonic through their power supply wattage calculator, which lists power supply recommendations for various components, including the new GPUs.

Significant Power Increases

The RTX 50 series shows significant TDP increases across all models. Starting with the GeForce RTX 5050, this entry-level SKU has a TDP of 100W. The RTX 5060 follows with a 170W TDP, 55W higher than its predecessor, the RTX 4060. The mid-range RTX 5070 features a 220W TDP, a 20W increase over the previous generation.

The high-end models, RTX 5080 and RTX 5090, have TDPs of 350W and 500W respectively. These represent significant jumps from the previous generation, with the RTX 5080 increasing by 30W and the RTX 5090 by 50W. Additionally, NVIDIA is standardizing the power connection system across the entire RTX 50 series with a 16-pin 12V-2×6 connector and an updated PCIe 6.0 CEM specification.

The increase in power requirements for the “Blackwell” generation is intriguing. The tech community is now eagerly waiting to see if these power increases will result in proportional performance gains. NVIDIA’s focus on unified connectors and higher power consumption suggests they are aiming for substantial improvements in GPU capabilities.
