Nvidia GeForce RTX GT610 Listed on AliExpress

A suspicious listing has appeared on AliExpress for a product labeled “Nvidia GeForce RTX GT610,” prompting warnings for consumers to steer clear. The product, offered by a manufacturer named “SJS,” blends an outdated graphics card model with modern branding, creating confusion for potential buyers. While the original GeForce GT610 was released years ago with basic performance capabilities, the addition of “RTX” in the title is misleading, as the card has no advanced features such as ray tracing.
Fake Graphics Cards on Sale Again
Online marketplaces are notorious for hosting questionable products, and this listing adds to the growing number of dubious items. The GeForce RTX GT610 in question comes with 1 GB of DDR3 VRAM and supports PCIe Express 2.0, which aligns with the actual specifications of the original GT610. However, the misleading “RTX” prefix suggests features that are entirely absent from this product, such as the ray tracing technology introduced much later in graphics cards.
This particular model uses an outdated Fermi architecture, several generations old. The packaging and presentation of the card are also unprofessional, indicating a lack of trustworthiness in both the product and the manufacturer.
Consumers are urged to be extra cautious when buying electronics from lesser-known brands or platforms. Misleading advertisements like this one highlight the importance of thoroughly researching products before making a purchase.
