As one of the biggest gaming related events of the year, GDC always sees major announcements from the big players. This year, we’ve already pretty much confirmed AMD’s Ryzen launch then and there is also the Radeon Capsaicin & Cream event. It seems that Nvidia wants in on the fun as well and has announced their GDC GeForce GTX gaming celebration on February 28th, the same day as the Capsaicin & Cream.
You’re invited to attend the GeForce GTX gaming celebration!
Come join us for an evening of awesome PC gaming, hardware, tournaments and of course free food, drinks and a few other amazing surprises.
Obviously, Nvidia might want to take away some of the hype from AMD by holding their own event as well. AMD is expected to reveal more Vega details for the RX500 launch later this year. From previous reports, we also have indications that Nvidia is readying their GTX 1080 Ti as the counter to Vega. This event would be the perfect opportunity during GDC to launch the card. Given this backdrop, Nvidia launching the GTX 1080 Ti at the same time as AMD is giving a Vega presentation would be a great marketing and strategic move.
Even if Nvidia doesn’t launch anything, the event is sure to draw attention away from AMD’s big day. It’s also a great way for Nvidia to give back to their fans and customers by hosting an open and free gaming event. Unfortunately for fans, the event is already sold out but if there are any major announcements then, we will be sure to find out and let you know!
