GeForce Now is NVIDIA’s cloud gaming subscription program which offers those without a PC the opportunity to play their favourite games over the internet using cloud streaming. Effectively it’s Netflix for gaming and NVIDIA have decided to expand upon their program by offering day passes alongside their monthly subscriptions to allow users to avoid committing to a monthly membership.
The new GeForce Now Day Pass offers up 24 hour access to RTX powered cloud gaming for a lower price and less commitment than the monthly subscription. Now in terms of value you’d be better off with a full monthly subscription but if you just want to try it out for one day or for any other reason that warrants a day pass, then it might be right for you. NVIDIA offers day passes for both the Priority tier at $3.99 and the Ultimate Tier at $7.99.
The two tiers offer different experiences, as the Ultimate pass utilises an RTX 4080 and allows for up to 4K 120 FPS gaming with 8 hour session lengths, whilst the Priority tier only offers 1080p 60 FPS gaming with 6 hour session lengths. Personally I don’t hold any value in the service but many others do, though I’m not sure on who’s going to be grabbing these day passes as if you intend on spending more than 3 days using GeForce Now, you might as well just get a monthly subscription as at that point it will be cheaper. You can’t even claim it as a way to test out the service as there is a free tier available.
