Nvidia to Launch GTX 1050M at CES 2017?

Nvidia has been keeping up a decent pace with releasing their latest GPU hardware, but reports suggest that they’re ready to show a little more attention to their mobile GPU market at the upcoming CES 2017 trade show. The new GPU is expected to be their mid-range Nvidia GTX 1050M. The new hardware follows behind their flagship GTX 1080, 1070 and the 1060, which have all had mobile GPU releases, but the GTX 1050 is well suited to those wanting something more affordable. Given that budget mobile offerings are still made up of the GTX 960M and 950M range, it’s obviously a good time for Nvidia to move away from Maxwell completely and get their mobile GPUs all running on Pascal.

With the Nvidia GTX 1050M expected to deliver the same, or possibly even better core count as the desktop GPU, but with higher clock speeds, it should certainly be competitive in the mobile market, and far exceed the capabilities of the current 9xx hardware in terms of performance and efficiency, even more so with the upcoming release of Kaby Lake CPUs from Intel, making early 2017 a perfect time for a refresh of popular laptop ranges and a good time to upgrade your existing system.

Are you looking forward to more a more affordable 10xx series mobile GPU from Nvidia?
