NVIDIA Launches the Quadro RTX 4000 Workstation Card

New Quadro Turing Option for Professionals

Last month, NVIDIA opened up the pre-orders for their Quadro RTX 5000 graphics cards. Now they are announcing a new mid-range workstation variant called the Quadro RTX 4000, utilizing the same Turing Tu104 silicon. With a few things disabled of course.

According to NVIDIA, the Turing architecture is their most important innovation in computer graphics in more than a decade. They have even enhanced the RTX development platform with new AI, ray tracing and simulation SDKs. All taking advantage of the Turing GPU’s capabilities.

What is the Specifications for the Quadro RTX 4000?

The single-slot professional graphics card has 2304 CUDA cores, 288 Tensor cores and 36 RT cores. It is paired with 8GB of GDDR6 memory and has a TDP of 160W. In terms of performance, users can expect 7.1 TFLOPS in FP32 and up to 6 Giga Rays/Sec.

In comparison, the RTX 5000 has 3,702 CUDA cores, 384 Tensor cores and 48 RT cores. It also has more memory with 16GB of GDDR6.

In terms of connectivity, it has three DisplayPort 1.4 available in the rear and has a VirtualLink connector as well.

How Much is the Quadro RTX 4000?

Prices for this professional workstation graphics card should be around $900 USD. It will be available directly from NVIDIA starting December, or through their partners offering professional graphics solutions.
