Nvidia Leak Confirms 4070 Ti to Launch on January 5th for $799 MSRP!

It’s pretty much a known fact that Nvidia was set to announce the launch of the 4070 Ti at some point during (or slightly before) CES 2023. Of course, we didn’t have any kind of formal confirmation from Team Green, but based on all the leaks we’ve seen over the last few months, we knew this was happening, we simply needed the rubber stamp.
Well, in this regard we might now have it as following a report via Videocardz, leaked information has confirmed two key pieces of information regarding the 4070 Ti graphics card. – Firstly, it will be officially launched on January 5th. And secondly, and perhaps most interestingly, it’ll be coming at an MSRP of $799.
Why is this price so interesting? Well, it’s $100 less than when this GPU was called the 4080 12GB!
Nvidia 4070 Ti – January 5th Launch at $799!
So, just to clarify that key point, the 4070 Ti (the GPU formerly known as the 4080 12GB) will be coming with a lower MSRP of $799 (down from $899). – A factor that pretty much cements the fact that Nvidia was trying to pull a fast one on us when this was originally called a 4080 12GB. And make no bones about it, the 4070 Ti is categorically the same rebranded GPU as the ‘cancelled’ 4080 12GB which only further highlights that Nvidia only originally called this a ‘4080’ to justify a higher price tag.
We should note though that MSRP figures still remain a total fallacy when it comes to actual retail prices. – While Nvidia will suggest a figure of $799, it’s not exactly written in stone that retailers will have this available at that price. Let alone custom AIB models.
Then again, given how hugely unpopular the 4080 16GB has been (with it already selling for below MSRP) who knows, while the 4070 Ti might have a consulted history (that Nvidia probably wants us to forget), maybe this will represent an excellent option. Especially so considering they claim it has the beating of the 3090 Ti which still costs, at least in theory, $300-$400 more!
