Computex 2015 – NVIDIA are not ones to shy away from the spotlight and here is CEO Jen-Hsun flaunting the new NVIDIA Shield TV package. Packing NVIDIA’s own Tegra mobile X1 processor and based on Android TV, this device is super slim and super fast with 4K capabilities.
At retail, the package will include just the unit itself, but a vertical TV stand and voice control remote will be available separately. Built for gamers and also those who love multimedia, the Shield Android TV will allow you to play NVIDIA GRID’s huge library of games as well as stream from your own NVIDIA powered PC using the GeForce Experience application. Being based on Android, you also have the functionality to install your own apps as well as surfing the web, checking Facebook and other day-to-day tasks.
This is set to be NVIDIA’s flagship TV offering. The base price will be $199USD, but Google are currently offering $60USD Play Store credit at launch in the US.
