Whenever a new major game is released, graphics card vendors tend to publish a driver update which provides the necessary optimisations to uphold an enjoyable experience. In recent years, AMD and NVIDIA have unveiled driver updates on a regular basis which also include important bug fixes. The latest NVIDIA WHQL driver version 376.09 has just been released in preparation for the open world third-person RPG, Watch Dogs 2. This particular driver consists of game optimisation, recommended profiles through GeForce Experience and SLI functionality providing Ubisoft has embedded the proper support.
Some of you might remember, Watch Dogs was a mess on PC and it still doesn’t run very well. Also, there was a huge controversy regarding the graphics downgrade in the final edition compared to Ubisoft’s E3 footage. I remember trying to play Watch Dogs on the highest settings and struggling even with two high-end graphics cards. The sequel seems much more promising and has a fantastic options menu. When you consider it’s being bundled with NVIDIA GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 cards, the performance should be solid. Also, laptops sporting either of these chips will come with a free copy. As per usual, we’ve reached out to Ubisoft and hope to conduct a game performance analysis rather soon.
The 376.09 driver can be downloaded from here or directly in the GeForce Experience software.
