Nvidia RTX 4060 & 4060 Ti Specs & Performance Figures Leak
Mike Sanders / 2 years ago
Based on the most recent news (and indications from Nvidia), we can likely expect to see the 4090, 4080, and 4080 Ti released later this year with models such as the 4060 and 4060 Ti not expected to land until some time around the early part of 2023. And possibly even around March/April.
Why? Well, while Nvidia is once again taking a staggered release approach, it’s understood that the 40XX series will see this more notably dragged out. Specifically, to allow more time for existing 30XX stock to, hopefully, start dwindling before it gets completely superseded by ‘next-gen’ models. And in this regard, it’s understood that there are a lot of 30XX GPUs that are not really moving as fast as Nvidia (and their AIB partners) would like. Hence why lower to mid-tier 40XX models might take longer to arrive than usual.
What about the 4060 and 4060 Ti though? Well, following a Twitter post by leak source ‘@QbitLeaks‘ we have not only what might represent our best look yet at their specifications, but more so, details regarding benchmarks results that might add an extra dimension as to why Nvidia might prefer to hold back on these launches.
Well it seems 4060 and 4060 Ti have been tested

4060 Ti: TSE ~8600, avg clock 26XX, power draw ~270-280W.
4060: TSE ~6000, avg clock 27XX, power draw ~230-240W.

We should start by noting that the source has said that the graphics cards ‘tested’ in this performance leak are just, effectively, prototypes with their final configuration still yet to be 100% decided. And don’t dismiss this either as the source simply trying to cover their backside. It was found only recently that a new 4080 configuration pointed at a revised 23Gbps memory specification instead of the previously rumoured (and heavily leaked) 21Gbps.
With the 4060 Ti scoring 8600 points in 3DMark Time Extreme, however, this is incredibly encouraging news as this is a result roughly on par with what the current gen 3080 can manage. – And with this, it does perhaps give us our best clue yet in regards to the theory that the reason Nvidia is delaying the release of lower to mid-tier 40XX graphics cards is that they’re, comparatively speaking, going to absolutely destroy even possibly the absolute best the 30XX range had!
Yes, for the moment, this still remains a theory. The plot is certainly thickening though!
