Nvidia RTX 4060 Ti Founders Edition Review

Doom Eternal

Hell’s armies have invaded Earth. Become the Slayer in an epic single-player campaign to conquer demons across dimensions and stop the final destruction of humanity. Experience the ultimate combination of speed and power in DOOM Eternal – the next leap in push-forward, first-person combat. Armed with a shoulder-mounted flamethrower, retractable wrist-mounted blade, upgraded guns and mods, and abilities, you’re faster, stronger, and more versatile than ever.

Available now on Steam.

In Doom Eternal it did so well it’s not even funny. With an average fps of 355 it sits below AMD’s more expensive RX 6800 and ahead of the RTX 3070 Ti with much stronger 1% lows than both cards.

Bumping the resolution to 1440p and we see pretty evenly matched performance to the RTX 3070 and 3070 Ti, though again, the 1% low figures are slightly better on the ADA based GPU again giving a more consistent and fluid gameplay experience.

  1. Big woop.
Similar rasterization to a 2 year old 6700XT, which comes with 12Gb and not 8Gb and is still $80 cheaper today. Yes, it has better Ray Tracing and DLSS3, but enabling RT creates such low frame rates that it is unusable. DLSS is not much better than FSR. Want more Vram, then there is a 16gb version, but be prepared to spend an additional $100….
I would be more impressed with a cheaper 4070.
