Nvidia RTX 4070 Super Founders Edition Graphics Card Review

Baldur’s Gate 3

Gather your party and return to the Forgotten Realms in a tale of fellowship and betrayal, sacrifice and survival, and the lure of absolute power. Mysterious abilities are awakening inside you, drawn from a mind-flayer parasite planted in your brain. Resist, and turn darkness against itself. Or embrace corruption, and become ultimate evil. From the creators of Divinity: Original Sin 2 comes a next-generation RPG, set in the world of Dungeons & Dragons.

Available now on Steam.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is up next, and at 1080p we see a performance increase of 15% over the non SUPER 4070, which makes up a 21 FPS improvement, which also places the SUPER card 8% above the RX 7800 XT which previously out performed the 4070. The SUPER has also narrowed the gap with the 3080 Ti which sits just 4% ahead and brought us closer to the 6950 XT which seems to really like this game and performed alongside the more expensive 4070 Ti though does suffer somewhat in the lows, but with that in mind, I’ll be interested to see how the 4070 Ti SUPER improves upon this when it launches next week.

At 1440p we see a 16% increase in FPS over the Non SUPER card and again now places itself ahead of the 7800 XT. The RTX 3080 Ti does just barely outperform the SUPER with 4% more FPS, and once again we see the 6950 XT outperforming the 4070 SUPER, ending up with 13% more FPS on average though does come with 4GB more of VRAM.

At 4K the 4070 SUPER increases performance by 18% over its non-SUPER counterpart with 11FPS more on average. To no one’s surprise, the 7800 XT gets beaten by the new SUPER card which now sits 7% higher than the 7800 XT whereas the 4070 non-SUPER used to sit 9% behind the AMD card in the averages.
